Importance of  Sunn-hemp Crop

Sunn-hemp is also raised as a green manure crop. If a sun hemp crop is grown for green manuring purposes, the crop is turned under with a soil inverting plough when the plants are about six to eight weeks old. It adds about 40-60 kg of nitrogen per hectare to the soil on its decomposition.
